Synopsis: Every year in Spring the sheep owners gather together all their sheep in a herd and begin the transhumance for higher pastures during summer. At this occasion they celebrate the custom of “Ruptul sterpelor”, which has both an economical reason (to establish how much milk each sheep gives and thus to know how much cheese each owner would get), but also a symbolical one, as there are performed gestures meant to protect the summer farm and the animals.
