O moarte în familia mea
Director: Andra Tarara
Duration: 13 min
When I was a child, I thought the world stops in place when someone close dies. But it did not stop.
Grandma is terminally ill, while the rest of the family frets with Easter preparations. The camera observes the familial dynamics and creates a reflection on death from the granddaughter’s perspective.
Andra Tarara has a BA degree in movie at UNATC „I.L.Caragiale”, department of film and Tv image (2016) and graduated from a MA in Visual Anthropology at SNSPA Bucharest, Faculty of Political Science, Visual Studies and Society (2018).
A death in my family is her first movie as a director.
Currently, Andra Tarara is working on her first feature documentary, a family film produced in colab with her father on the relationship between the two, opening up a discussion on wider social problems, such as the stigma of mental disorders, the inter-generational heritage, trauma, trust, education.
